If you haven’t been able to tell I am big on mixing it up. One of my favorite ways to make an outfit more interesting is mixing textures. Leather, velvet, and lace– these are my a few of my favorite textures to mix for fall because they have a colossal success rate at making an outfit feminine, […]

My roomies and I each have very different style. Marbella (middle) is all sandals and flow, Meagan (right) is always clad in jeans and tees and I (left) am a vintage mess. When we have been getting ready to go out lately– or even just for class– we pillage each others’ wardrobes.
Wondering what the offspring of boho, girl next-door, and vintage mayhem looks like? Well, the best way I can describe it is positively mutant (in a good, teenage ninja turtle kind of way).
Coco Channel once said, “To be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” So I dare you to step out of your comfort zone. Coco did, and she built a multi-million-dollar fashion empire that now survives as a living legacy. Women in the 1920s did not own companies. Coco was different. She dared to attempt what others wouldn’t, and I would argue that she was, and still is, the most influential woman in the fashion world.
Our mutant styles don’t fit in a single category, but they are a lot more interesting than staying within the confines of our own wardrobes – so enjoy your mixing, and screw matching.

A huge thank you to my beautiful friends and roomies!
